The atmosphere is cool and relaxing thanks to the constant breeze flowing off the Saigon river. Man-made scenery, such as rice fields, rows of coconut trees, wood stoves, bamboo tables and “monkey” bridges (a kind of temporary bridge built from bamboo) will transport your imagination to the rural Vietnamese landscape of bygone days. Most workers wear traditional southern clothing, called Bà Ba. Adding to the southern appeal of Binh Quoi village, waitresses wear black Rằn scarves around their necks and waiters tie them around their hips. This attire recalls the image of the first generation, who diligently and bravely reclaimed the land of South Vietnam more than 320 years ago.
